Newest addition to the family, our Titan

Well, here it is! Our 2004 Nissan Titan. I held off as long as I could after we sold the Tahoe, which was October, but SUMMER is coming and the boating season will soon be upon us, so it was time.

Although she's a few years old, mileage is very low and the interior is perfect! We got a screamin' deal on her too, one we just couldn't pass up! 

And to add to her awesomeness, she came with a carpet kit!

(for those of you who don't know what that is, it's carpeted seating that lines the bed of the truck)

We have zero need for a carpet kit, but one day we'll have kids that will love it. For now, it will sit in our basement taking up some much needed space.

Hey y'all! It's been a while... Lots has happened but minimal pictures have been taken, so here we go

I took this the other day... It's just too adorable!

We put up new exterior doors, the first is the front door and the second is our side door. They have been so wonderful!

I've been attending Weber State this semester, majoring in Secondary Education, Physical Education

I've been missing these puppies like crazy! I hope they are loving life with their new families!

We bought a new computer! With both of us in school, or soon to be going to school, we needed something that would allow us to look at and do homework... Our 6 year old laptop wasn't cutting it!

This week is the International Sportsmans Expo. Fred's Marine, my Dad's boat shop, will be there selling Tracker boats, Sanuks, Sherpani Bags, and Hapari swim suits. If you don't know what any of these things are, go to www.fredsmarine.com and look them up. Sanuks are sandals, Sherpani bags are multi purpose bags, and Hapari is modest swimwear that is so cute! And very durable! So go online, come to the Sportsmans Expo, or next week come into Fred's to see everything!

No baby news... Hopefully soon. Just trying to stay patient.

Lake Mead - family tradition for 15 years

This past weekend we went to Lake Mead. My family has been going there for UEA weekend 15 out of the last 16 years. Yes, we've only missed one year. Very impressive! We had perfect weather the entire trip and pure glass in the afternoons. Only one major accident to report: While Brooke was surfing behind the Tige, they came across an extremely random and shallow spot of land, which immediately brought the Tige to a halt sending my niece Sydney flying over the front. Brooke, who was still surfing, had no idea what just happened, but noticed she was getting to the boat extremely quick so she swerved to make the surf board miss the boat, instead making herself hit. Brian, who was driving the boat, pulled Sydney out of the water just in time for Brooke to see it. Such a random, unexpected, and unavoidable accident, luckily everyone was safe!

At the bottom of this ramp is where we launched our boats last year... The water was so low we had to take the dirt road around to the new ramp, a good mile away. Yet another reason we hit land.

I really HATE when Kip has to leave for work. Luckily it's not too often...

I am the 2nd councelor in the Young Womens, so I got to go to Girls Camp! And guess who got to tag along... Kip!

The first day we packed everything up and headed to the Twin Falls, Idaho temple to do baptisms for the dead. On our way we blew a tire on the small trailer we were towing, so that set us back an hour or so. But we made it and almost everyone did baptisms. I stayed out with a few girls and another leader and we got new tires on the trailer and went to the mall. I'm only telling you all this because I don't have any pictures...

Day 2 we went to Shoshone Falls. Beautiful. We took a hike around Dierkes Lake and then swam & cliff jumped. The lake was VERY cold. But it was really fun!

Day 3 we stayed at camp and worked on crafts and certification.

Day 4 we went rafting on the Snake River.

 It was mostly calm with a few rapids.

I didn't get any pictures of our raft battles, but that was a memorable experience! Amy's husband Justin would jump rafts, push or pick up girls and throw them in the river. We had some awesome battles!

All packed up ready to go home. We were all exhausted by this time! Kip and I really had fun at camp. We hope all the girls did as well!

Oh, and this is Linda's van on the drive home. Awesome.

A few days after Girls Camp we left for Lake Powell yet again... This was my 3rd trip and Kip's 2nd. We went with the company Living Scriptures. They rented a boat and driver from Fred's Marine for the week. Kip was the lucky one chosen and I tagged along! We had a really fun time and enjoyed meeting everyone!

FINALLY the last event of summer 2010, my triathlon! Between all of those trips I had to make time for running and biking, I got plenty of swimming in! Not much bike training, but I was confident I could hack a 12 mile bike ride, I was mostly worried about the swim! I competed in the Bear Lake Brawl. Friday night, the night before, the weather was awful! A storm came and took 2 of the 3 swim buoys to Idaho, so our start times were pushed back so they could get everything set again. Luckily Saturday morning was beautiful and we were able to do all 3 events.

There were over 700 participants, not including spectators, and I set up my station right by Jess Kilgore and Sally Cantwell! What are the odds?!

I was too nervous/excited to act normal... This is my sister-in-law Brooke. She had a baby 4 months ago... Way to go Brooke!

First triathlon: DONE!

I loved it! It's much more challenging that just running, Even though I hate swimming, I'd love to get better at it. Triathlons are my new love... Thanks Brooke for doing it as well!
